Is a charming small town featuring a wealth of historical buildings with memorable pasts.
It has much to offer the visitor whether you are here for a get away, full vacation, meeting, or special occasion. Goldsborough, Washington, Harrison and Dover Streets offer a charming array of unique dress, specialty and antiques shops, many excellent restaurants, ice cream parlor, pastry and coffee bistros, and outstanding live entertainment provided by the historic Avalon Theatre and Night Cat at Coffee Cat. The Avalon hosts musical theatre, choral arts and classical music performances as well as panoply of bluegrass, blues, jazz and world music groups.
Within three blocks are the Historical Society Museum and Gardens, the Welcome Center, The Academy Arts Museum, and the Waterfowl Festival Building, as well as a host of art galleries that feature original works, both traditional and contemporary.
On the first full weekend of every month, Easton Main Street coordinates these establishments as they extend their business day and the sidewalks of Easton accommodate a leisurely parade of locals and visitors who browse, admire, and shop. First Weekend Easton – LIVE offers different activities each month. Each Saturday, April through December, the Farmer’s Market displays wonderful produce and hand made crafts. A host of special attractions – including the renowned Waterfowl Festival, the Festival of Trees at Christmas and Easton in December activities, the Eastern Shore Chamber Music Festival, old fashioned July 4th celebration, annual Plein Air! Easton festival – make Easton the perfect destination – for the vacationer or business traveler.
Area activities include biking, boating, and fishing. The Chesapeake Bay has many rivers and creeks to explore. There is more coastline here than in California.
